Hey Frnz....

All they call me mad just abt her music and i accept that i am too..... so here it goes the details about her so that all of u can know who is she? and how nicely she sings....

A. Enya – Eithne – Nicky and Roma Ryan - Trio– Aigle Music

A1. Who is Eithne? How to pronounce Eithne?
Eithne is Enya’s true name. "Enya" is phonetic spelling for Eithne (pronounced as ehn-ya). She chose to alter her name because as an artist she wanted to work under her own name, yet knew how many people would have difficulties in pronouncing her Irish name correctly.

A2. Why do some people use Eithne and not Enya?
"Eithne" is generally used to refer to the woman, whereas "Enya" is used to refer to all three people who are involved with the music: Eithne, Nicky and Roma Ryan.

A3. Who are Roma and Nicky Ryan?
Nicky and Roma are a married couple that have managed Enya's career since the beginning of her solo career. Nicky is the producer/ arranger/ manager and Roma is the lyricist. Nicky Ryan had previously managed Clannad.

A4. Who is Aigle? What does the term ‘Trio’ mean?
Trio is a term used by fans to collectively talk about Eithne, Nicky and Roma. Aigle is the name of the recording studio they use, but also refers to the Trio and and their employees who involved as well.

A5. How do you pronounce "Aigle," and what does it mean?
Aigle is the French word for eagle, and is pronounced "ay-gel," with a hard G, like "angle."

B. Enya as a person

B1. When was Enya born? Is Enya her real name?
Enya was born on 17 May 1961 as Eithne Patricia Ní Bhraonáin (pronounced Enya Patricia Vree-nine, Anglicanized to Enya Patricia Brennan) in Gweedore (Ghaoth Dobhair), County Donegal, Ireland. Enya is the phonetic spelling of her name.

B2. How tall is Enya?
5 feet 2 inches, or 1,57 meters

B3. What colour are Enya’s eyes?
Enya's eyes appear to be several different colors, blue, green, brown, and hazel, depending upon the different photos or videos. It is possible she may wear coloured lenses for the photo/video shoots. People generally agree Enya’s eyes are probably not blue or brown, but either hazel or grey-ish.

B4. Is Enya married? She wears a ring.
Enya is NOT married. The rings she wears on her right hand are a Claddagh ring and a wedding band. Both of these belonged to her grandmother who has passed away.

B5. Is it true that Enya lives in a castle?
In 1997, Enya bought Ayesha Castle and subsequently spent about five years remodeling it. In a CBS Morning interview in 2001, Enya stated she had not yet moved in. At the time the interview was re-aired in 2003, she was living in the castle. Enya changed the name of her home from Ayesha to Manderley. Manderley is the name of the beautiful estate house that is in her favourite novel, Rebecca.

C. Enya and her family

C1. Does Enya have any brothers or sisters?
Enya is the sixth child in a family of nine. She has four sisters: Máire (Moya), Deirdre, Olive and Brídín; and four brothers: Ciarán, Pól, Leon and Bartley.
They were born in the following order: Máire - Ciarán - Pól - Deidre - Leon - Eithne - Olive - Bartley - Brídín

D. The creation of Enya’s music

D1. Does Enya really do all the instruments and vocals herself?
Yes, Enya does all of the vocals and instruments herself, except where stated. See the album booklets for guest musicians.

D2. What instruments, besides the piano, does Enya play in her music?
It is said that Enya plays some of the strings and percussions, but some of these are also synthesized.

E. Understanding Enya’s songs

E1. 1. Some of Enya's songs are not in English, what language are they?
Enya sings in Gaelic (her native tongue), English, Latin, Spanish, Japanese, Welsh, French, as well as "Quenya" and "Sindarin", two languages invented by J.R.R. Tolkien. In her most recent album Amarantine, Enya uses a fictional language called Loxian.

E2. What is Loxian?

Loxian is a fictional language created by Roma Ryan. The language was created especially for Enya's music because Gaelic, Latin or English didn't seem to fit the particular mood of certain songs.
The idea to create a fictional language was inspired by the previous use of Tolkiens fictional languages Quenya and Sindarin, used in the songs for the Lord of The Rings soundtrack.
Roma Ryan has written a book called Water Shows the Hidden heart about the how and why of Loxian. The book is available at online bookstores like Amazon.

E3. Where can I get translations?

Ross is Ross Cullum, who was an engineer on the album Watermark. Interestingly, the Ross Dependency is actually a location on Antarctica, claimed by New Zealand.

E5. What do the Irish dedications in Enya’s albums mean?

We are truly grateful to Rob Dickins for the help and courage he gave us.

Enya's music touches the spirit. I've leved her music for years and keep coming back to it for inspiration and strength. Thanks for the information about her.

oops--that would be "loved" not "leved."

I'm a fan!
But please, could anyone tell me where to write to her (address)? I'd be so glad that my letter has a chance to fall into her hands, not another one who would pretend to be her, and that while knowing it is a very remote possibility, I agree...

And if you may have an answer, is it better to write to a fan club (does Enya often visit them for checking her mail?) or to her production firm or else?

Please, I don't wanna lose my precious letter... help me
thx so much
